The goal of this web site is to promote the T3 (Technology Training for Teachers). The main purpose of the T3 initiative is to foster learning through an increased awareness of technology and its role in the classroom.
Preparing for Tomorrow
Preparing today's youth for the jobs of tomorrow requires integrating technology into daily lesson plans and activities. With an increased awareness of what technology offers, teacher's can easily implement effective classroom instruction. This web site attempts to offer teachers a jumpstart on learning about what technology is available and how it can be used effectively in the classroom.

Mt Edgecombe High School in Alaska has developed a comprehensive portfolio creation, assessment, and delivery system. They have created a web site to display student portfolios. This web site contains a wide variety of student developed portfolios. In addition, the school portfolio web site also contains many useful examples of how to make the portfolios more interesting and fun for student development. Teachers will find excellent examples of portfolios in addition to rubrics and tips on creating portfolios.

The Metropolitan Career and Technical Center The Metropolitan Career and Technical Center is a new kind of public high school that integrates academic and applies learning. The Met serves as a lab school for the Rhode Island Department of Education.
This web site portfolio is an excellent example of how to use a portfolio to demonstrate the school's achievement. It provides an overview of the school's progress during it's second year of operation and is structured around the Met's main design principles. University of Florida College of Education The Office of Instructional Technology at the University of Florida has developed an excellent site and resource center for the development, display, and distribution of university student portfolios. This site includes not only the rationale behind why portfolios are an important part of educational development but also includes the resources for both students and faculty to begin development. Resources include several portfolio templates, student samples, a resource directory by subject, student presentations, and a portfolio mentor program.

The University of Virginia Curry School of Educ. The Curry School of Education hosts a web site that contains links to electronic teaching portfolios created by preservice and inservice teachers as well as professors and graduate students. These student portfolios should provide any preservice teacher with many ideas of how to implement not only a personal portfolio but also portfolios within their new teaching environment. Some of the additional resource links are broken but the large majority of the student portfolios are in tact on this main page. |
